Meet the Team
Mayaka Ogawa, Japanese Ambassador
Hi! I'm Mayaka Ogawa, the a 21st student in Akita International University. I'm majoring in Political Science, specifically Migration Studies! The Global Campus has helped me a lot in identifying different opportunities like online sessions that broadened my understanding in different areas of Politics, International Relations, etc.
Not only that, the organisation has a compiled summary of the latest events that have happened in the past few weeks. I really recommend this to students who have a busy schedule (like m ), but still want to stay informed and broaden their current understanding. Plus, it's free!
Nicholas Fenech, Founder of The Global Campus
G’day, my name is Nicholas Fenech (Nick), a proud Australian, a penultimate student of Politics (International relations), Philosophy, Economics at UNSW, and the founder of The Global Campus. In early 2025, I took the trip of my life and travelled to Japan for 6 months. I brought back valuable lessons and friendships that I’ve treasured at every opportunity (一期一会). Through these lessons I’ve found something truly special, reflecting everything I’ve learnt and the friendships I value.
In doing so I founded The Global Campus, a non-for-profit organisation built on engagement, education and empathy. My dream is to create equal opportunity for people to travel, promoting exchange and broadening their horizons from what they currently know (井の中の蛙大海を知らず).
Tara Sabrina Mohammad, Filipino Ambassador
Mabuhay! I'm Tara Sabrina Mohammad, a first-year student pursuing my Master of Arts in Political Economy with a specialisation in International Relations and Development at the University of Asia and the Pacific in the Philippines.
Beyond the classroom, I also work in Philippine journalism through national broadsheets and school papers. I mainly tackle feature and commentary pieces on social or political trends. This is fueled by my belief in how informed storytelling can push societies toward meaningful change.
I'm particularly passionate about politics and social development, and I aim to spark conversations that make international affairs both human and grounded in truth.
The power of words lies not simply in reporting, but also in transforming complex global issues into clear and accessible narratives that help people question power, demand accountability, and make informed choices.
Elena Bigarella, Italian Ambassador
Hi everyone! I’m Elena Bigarella, and I’m currently studying Philosophy and Contemporary Society at the University of Ferrara, Italy.
My interests have always been broad, but international cooperation and politics are the fields that inspire me the most. I’m particularly drawn to anything that can make a difference. I believe one of the most important things we can do is to stay active: identify a problem, take responsibility, and try to change or improve it, even in small ways.
This mindset has guided many of my choices. I’ve been involved as a student representative at my university, and I currently serve as an EU Careers Ambassador, promoting opportunities within European institutions.
And now, I’ve landed here, in this wonderful project that connects dreams, ideas, and real change, highlighting how deeply we are all interconnected. This is exactly why I chose to engage with The Global Campus: its values resonate with my own and reflect the kind of impact I hope to contribute to.
I’ve also studied abroad in Japan, an experience that strengthened my adaptability and cross-cultural communication skills, and allowed me to meet incredible people from all over the world.
I’m passionate about international cooperation, critical dialogue, and creating spaces where diverse perspectives can meet and grow.
I’m excited to contribute to the Global Campus and collaborate with a team driven by curiosity, inclusivity, and global engagement.
