The given speech analysis is conducted in this study through a critical examination and review of a speech given by Dr Duncan Mccargo. The speech is focused on Thailand’s Senate election in 2024 and how a “merit-based” election has turned out to be dominated by political factions in addition to Bhumjaithai’s “blue faction” that holds power in more than 200 members of parliament. However, this Senate has a capability to appoint high-ranking officials and is dominated by conservatives that are a setback to Thailand’s progressives.
